For Educators

How do I choose a program? First, you want to ask yourself what topic(s) in linguistics have motivated you to pursue a graduate degree. Think about what classes you have particularly enjoyed as well as what research topics have garnered your greatest curiosity. These are likely the topics that drive your interest.
The LSA is active on a range of issues affecting the field of linguistics and the broader social context in which linguists conduct their work. This compendium provides and overview of our outward-facing work on a range of contemporary issues.
This 75-minute webinar will provide a brief introduction to social media, with a particular focus on Linguist Twitter. Attendees will come away with an overview of some of the benefits and pitfalls of social media, as well as pointers for social media etiquette. We will discuss how social media can benefit your research, teaching, networking, and community building.
In light of the challenges to teaching that Linguistics instructors across the country (and elsewhere) are all currently facing and expect to face in the longer term, the LSA has initiated an effort to develop a curated repository of audio-visual materials on a range of topics that are central to introductory, intermediate, or advanced curricula in Linguistics programs.
Students are the future of the linguistics profession.
Are you enthusiastic about linguistics and eager to share your enthusiasm with a wider audience, but not sure how to get started?  Our panel of veteran podcasters will share their experience, including technical, journalistic and promotional best practices.   The webinar took place on Friday, March 6 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM U.S. Eastern Time.
