The LSA hosted a free webinar about a range of linguistics-related careers, organized by the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Linguistics Beyond Academia, on April 23, 2016. 
The goal of the LSA’s partnership with the Wiki Education Foundation to improve the quality of information about linguistics found on Wikipedia. The partnership will involve two components:
In an effort to document demographic changes in the academic linguistics community, the LSA has commissioned an annual report detailing information about job titles, students, degrees awarded, average salaries, and more. The report offers information about trends in student enrollment and employment by industry.

This guide is intended to be a resource for linguists who wish to pursue a proactive approach to garnering press coverage for linguistics or who may be approached by a journalist for comment in advance of a news story.
