The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is providing an opportunity for members of the behavioral and social sciences scholarly communities to submit accomplishments made in their field related to public health or healthcare. The LSA strongly encourages all linguists to contribute relevant research accomplishments to this effort. The NIH is using a comment system to collect information from scholars who believe their work or the work of their peers has positively impacted public health or healthcare.

One of the main goals of the OBSSR is to integrate behavioral and social sciences research into the larger missions of the NIH, which are to promote public health and to improve healthcare. By collecting comments from behavioral and social scientists about their contributions to public health and healthcare, the OBSSR can continue to consolidate research findings and communicate them to community, financial and governmental stakeholders.
