Announcing the workshop on Multilingualism, Contact and Documenting Endangered Languages! 

Join us in kicking off the UN Year of Indigenous Languages at the 2019 LSA Annual Meeting.

The workshop is to be held in conjunction with the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Linguistic Society of America, funded by a grant from NSF DEL #1748376 and endorsed by the LSA’s Committee on Endangered Languages & their Preservation (CELP). It is aimed at advancing the field of language documentation by focusing on documenting multilingualism and language contact. Emphases of the workshop will include consideration of the state of multilingualism in endangered language ecologies, identification of the current state of knowledge in this area, and examination of tools and methodologies for documenting and studying language contact in progress.
