The LSA is delighted to announce that it has received a major donation of 1,157,000 Japanese Yen ($10,447.97) to the Kuroda Fellowship Fund on behalf of the Linguistic Society of Japan (LSJ) and its members.

The Kuroda Fellowship Fund was established in 2017, when LSA member Susan Fischer generously provided the founding contribution of $50,000 for the fund in memory of her late husband,  This latest contribution will help the LSA reach its goal of raising a total of $85,000 to fully endow the fellowship fund. Preference will be given to Japanese who have not yet started studying in the US. The initial fellowship will be awarded at the 2019 Linguistic Institute at the University of California,Davis.
