The Department of Linguistics at the University of Washington-Seattle invites applications for a tenure-track position in language acquisition and morphosyntactic processing at the level of Assistant Professor, starting September 15, 2020. University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching and service; the successful applicant will develop a high-impact research program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise student research. This position is full-time (100% FTE), with a 9-month service period.

The Neuroscience of Language Lab at Duke University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar. Our lab is affiliated with the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences (BIAC) and the Linguistics Program. Research focuses on cognitive neurolinguistics, fMRI studies of language(s), the role of multilingualism and musicianship in building cognitive reserve, approaches to delaying the onset of symptoms of dementia. Methodology includes sociolinguistic research methods and ethnographic methods.

The Department of Linguistics at Cornell University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental Linguistics, to start in Fall 2020. Exceptional candidates will also be considered at the Associate Professor level. A research program which incorporates computational modeling and uses empirical methodologies to address theoretical questions is highly desired. Candidates will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in their area of specialization, as well as a course in at least one of the core subfields of linguistics.

The Department of Linguistics and Asian/Middle Eastern Languages at San Diego State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Professor of Japanese at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in fall 2020. The candidate is expected to have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese in addition to strong proficiency in English.
