We invite applications for a on-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Semantics and Computational Linguistics, starting on August 23, 2022.The teaching assignments for this position include introductory courses in semantics and general linguistics, as well as computational linguistics (combined undergraduate and graduate course), and elementary programming (Python). Duties also include the supervision of teaching assistants, advising graduate students with related interests, and other responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: PhD. (or foreign equivalent) in Linguistics or a related field, completed by the start date, with a focus on semantics/pragmatics and computational linguistics; evidence of a strong research/publication trajectory; ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate level. Preferred: Evidence of excellence in research; a research profile that expands the linguistic and/or methodological diversity of the Department; expertise in an adjacent discipline, such as Logic, Computer Science, or Psychology; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and advising.
