Gordon College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor of linguistics appointment with the opportunity to teach in undergraduate linguistics.

The department offers majors and minors in Linguistics, Combined Languages, French, and Spanish, along with additional minors in Classics, Latin American Studies, and Speech-Language Pathology, and instruction in German and Mandarin. The College archives hold many first translations of texts into indigenous languages of the Americas.

The linguistics program at Gordon College is characterized by rigorous and effective teaching that is invigorated by an active research and field work agenda. The faculty prepare students from a broad range of fields of interest, some for future work at the graduate level, and others for teaching. Faculty responsibilities include advising students, supervising student internships and faculty assignment on college committees.
