The Department of Linguistics at the University of Utah invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor to begin July 1, 2024, pending budgetary approval. The successful candidate must have completed a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field by the time of appointment.

This position involves a specialization in Computational Linguistics, with an additional specialization in at least one other core area of Linguistics (e.g., Phonology, Semantics, Syntax, Second Language Acquisition, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, etc.). The successful candidate will have a background in the fundamentals of Computer Science (including data structures, algorithms, and machine learning). The person hired into this position will be expected to conduct and publish research that makes use of computational methods while also contributing to the literature in one or more core areas of linguistics.
