The Department of Linguistics ( within the Division of Social Sciences at the University of California, San Diego invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position with a specialization in computational and quantitative approaches to language beginning July 1, 2018. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field.

Preferred candidates will be able to teach courses in programming, statistics/probabilistic methods with a linguistics focus, as well as general linguistics courses. We also seek candidates who can contribute to instruction-related activities at the campus, statewide and national level.

Candidates should submit, via online application to a cover letter, CV, teaching statement, documentation of teaching excellence, statement of scholarly activities, reprints of up to three representative publications/scholarly articles, and a statement summarizing their contributions (or potential contributions) to diversity and leadership. Candidates should also arrange for at least three letters of reference to be submitted via the on-line application system.

Applications received by December 1, 2017 will be given full consideration. However, the position will remain open until filled.

Salary is commensurate with experience and based on University of California pay scales.
