Position: The Department of Languages and Linguistics at Truman State University invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish with a focus on Hispanic
Linguistics to begin August 2024. A Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics is required; ABD will be
considered with Ph.D. completion required by August 2024.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include providing classroom instruction in lower and
upper division Spanish curriculum, including courses in Spanish Phonetics and History of the
Language. Scholarly activity consistent with Truman’s teacher-scholar model is expected.
Additional duties include academic advising, mentoring of students in research and other
experiences, and providing service to the department and University.
