The English Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English with a specialization in English linguistics, socio-linguistics, or applied linguistics. This professor will teach the current offerings in linguistic diversity/socio-linguistics, history of the English language, advanced grammar, and freshman composition. The ideal candidate will also be able to offer additional courses to expand our current offerings.

The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities. Scholarship in the discipline, involvement with advising and service to the department and profession are expected.

PhD in Linguistics, Socio-linguistics, or Applied Linguistics. Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching. Effective communication and organizational skills.

Experience teaching college-level linguistic courses, the history of the English language, grammar, and freshman composition.
