The Language Sciences Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison ( invites applications for a position in Syntax at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. We are especially interested in applicants with additional expertise in one or more of the following areas: Semantics, Indigenous languages of North or Central America, language variation and change, experimental methods, and/or computational linguistics.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a state-of-the-art research program, teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in their research areas and more broadly, and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students. University and professional service will also be expected as appropriate.

A PhD in Linguistics or a related field at the time of appointment.

Candidates should demonstrate evidence of high-quality research and teaching, and evidence of, or potential for, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Language Sciences is a program housed within the college of Letters & Science at UW-Madison. The successful candidate will join the current core faculty members of the Language Sciences Program and become an integral part of a vibrant interdisciplinary community of scholars that includes faculty members from many other departments on campus.
