The LSA is proud to sponsor Semantics and Linguistic Theory (SALT) 29, which will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles, from May 17 through May 19, 2019,

For the third year in a row, the LSA will handle conference registration, publish the proceedings, and promote SALT as part of its mission to advance the scientific study of language through scholarly communication.

Pop-up Mentoring Event

The LSA Committee on the Status of Women in Linguistics (COSWL) is excited to host a "Pop-Up Mentoring" event at SALT 29. The event at SALT will take place during lunch time (12:00 - 1:30 PM) on Friday May 17. All attendees are invited to participate; this event is not restricted to women, and is open to participants at all career stages, anyone who would like to give or receive career advice. The event is free, but you must register online in advance; please click here to register as a mentor or here to register as a mentee. Registration closes May 3.

Conference Registration

UCLA affiliates (faculty and graduate students) should make sure to complete early registration through this site if they would like to attend the conference and the dinner. But they should first contact Jessica at rett@ucla.edu to see if they're eligible for a UCLA-affiliate discount and coupon code. UCLA affiliates who are eligible for the discount but register late will be responsible for the extra fees.

Early registration for the conference will be available online from February 20 - April 20,  Late registration rates will be available from April 21 - May 15, and then again at SALT from May 17-19.  To register, click the large red "Register for Meeting" button at the top of this page and follow the prompts.  LSA members should log in to the website first to obtain the registration discount.

Registration rates are below. The cost of registration includes the cost of the Saturday night dinner. It also includes a fee, $10 for students or unemployed linguists and $20 for others, to support the availability, both now and in the future, of ASL interpretation at SALT, when needed.

Early Registration (February 20 - April 20)

ASL Interpretation

Attendees at the SALT 29 who need ASL/English interpretation must notify the organizers and register for the meeting by March 20, 2019. Presenters who plan to present in ASL must also notify the organizers by that date in order to ensure that interpretation is provided. All requests should be sent to the conference organizers, with the words "SALT 29 ASL Interpretation Request" in the subject line. Please include a list of sessions, papers, posters, and any other events you expect to attend.  The SALT 29 Program is available here.
