Semantics and Linguistic Theory (SALT) is the field's premier semantics conference.  In 2016, the LSA established an agreement with the organizers of the conference to serve as a long-term co-sponsor of this important event. Since 2009, the LSA has been hosting the online version of the entire run of the SALT Proceedings (Vol 1-27). This new agreement formalizes the publishing arrangement and adds new elements to the continuing partnership. Beginning with the 2017 SALT conference, the LSA has served as an official co-sponsor, providing online infrastructure, conference registration and marketing assistance.

Recent SALT conferences have been held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2018) University of Maryland (2017). The University of Texas at Austin (2016), Stanford University (2015),and New York University (2014). SALT 29 was held at the University of California, Los Angeles, from May 17-19, 2019.  SALT 30 will be held at Cornell University from April 23-26, 2020.
