These are the CELP sub-committees, including a description of their functions and membership. In order to be considered an active member of CELP, members must sign up for one of the following sub-committees:

1. Activism Sub-Committee: This sub-committee is charged with keeping track of pending legislation proposals or changes. Activities may include letter-writing, lobbying, and also interpersonal networking with relevant individuals and groups on particular issues.

2. Awards Sub-Committee: In consultation with the Ethics Committee, CELP appoints a sub-committee to review and make recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding nominees for the Excellence in Community Linguistics Award. More about this award may be found here.

3. Events Sub-Committee: This sub-committee is charged with organizing CELP symposia which are proposed to be held at annual LSA meetings, and with other potential outreach events and opportunities. Further information on past symposia may be found here.

4. Media Sub-Committee: This sub-committee is charged with promoting, through various social media outlets (e.g. blog postings, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) articles and press releases relevant to the mission of CELP.
