The American Academy of Arts and Sciences announced the election of 228 new members. This year, LSA members Lenore Grenoble (University of Chicago) and John Rickford (Stanford University), and linguists Stephanie Jamison (UCLA) and Luigi Rizzi (Siena) have been elected as Fellows in the cohort of 2017. The Academy is one of the nation’s most prestigious honorary societies featuring leaders in STEM, arts and humanities, and international affairs.

We congratulate these members on their accomplishment and dedication to pursuing language science!
