Members of the LSA recently voted to approve a Resolution on the Dakota Access Pipeline and the Sioux Nations at Standing Rock.  The Resolution was first drafted as a statement by members of the LSA's Committee on Endangered Languages and their Preservation (CELP) and approved in that form by the LSA Executive Committee and members in attendance at the LSA's recent Business Meeting in Austin, Texas. Expressing as it does the sense of the Linguistic Society of America on a matter of public importance, this statement was submitted to the entire LSA membership for a vote so that it might become a Resolution of the LSA.Read the Resolution here.
