LSA Publishes Anthology: Best of Language 1925 - 1985
Tuesday, April 9, 2013 - 10:22am
The LSA is pleased to announce the publication of The Best of Language, an anthology of the most prominent and influential articles published in its quarterly journal from 1925 to 1985. Available as an online compendium, the anthology is organized in two volumes, with a third volume in the works. The Best of Language was compiled by a committee of three former and current editors of the journal: Sarah Thomason, Brian Joseph and Greg Carlson. In choosing the articles to include in the anthology, they relied on a variety of data elements, including the most frequently downloaded articles in the JSTOR online archive, and a survey of LSA members. An Introduction to The Best of Language provides further insight into the selection process, and a preview of articles to be included in the forthcoming third volume. We invite members of the linguistics community to explore The Best of Language and see whether you agree with the committee’s selections.
