Since the publication of Volume 89 of Language, the LSA has embarked on an experiment with providing free open access to readers via this website.

Under this new publication model, any author of Language content may request immediate, open-access publication of their work by paying an article processing charge. Waivers of this fee may be granted at the discretion of the Editor of Language, in consulation with the LSA Secretary-Treasurer. If no request for immediate open access is made, then that article will be posted to this website one year from the date of its publication. For example, content published in the March 2013 issue of Language appeared on these pages in March 2014. It would have been able to appear earlier if a fee had been paid or it had been approved for a waiver.

As always, current Language content may be found online at Project MUSE. This site is available as a benefit to all LSA members, and any other user with a site license for a MUSE collection. Copies of individual articles are also available for purchase via DeepDyve, a partner of the LSA and Project MUSE.

Supporting Open Access to Language Content

Donations to support the LSA's Open Access Publishing Program are gratefully accepted throughout the year. Publication of open-access content is made possible, in part, by the generous contributions of donors to the LSA Open Access Publications Fund. Please consider making a donation to support continuous open access.
